Tucker Carlson schooled an NAACP representative fighting for “oppressed” multi-millionaire NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The NFL season starts in 12 days and the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, who decided to protest racism by not standing for the National Anthem, is still unemployed. A fact that has some people crying racism.

Among them is NAACP Atlanta chapter vice president Gerald Griggs, who participated in the #ImWithKap protests that demanded the quarterback be hired by an NFL team.

Griggs argued his point with Carlson when he appeared on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Friday, but didn’t directly answer any of the host’s questions.

“You have a league that is 70% African-American,” Carlson pointed out. “70% of the players are black as compared to about 13% of the population so clearly, there is no racism in hiring. You have a guy who signed a contract in 2014 for like $126 million. Collected $39 million of that. Just on the basis of those facts alone, it’s hard to see how Colin Kaepernick, at 29, is a victim of racism.”

Griggs argued that among NFL quarterbacks, Kaepernick’s rating made him the 17th best man at his position in a league that has more than 90 quarterback signed.

Carlson postulated that perhaps owners are making a poor decision by not signing Kaepernick based on talent, but again had a hard time believing the decision was race based.

“What makes you suspect it’s racial?” he asked. “Again, the league is 70% black. If anything, it seems like it might be able to use a little diversity. I mean, that’s not — I mean, how is that racism? I’m honestly confused.”

Griggs said it had to do with the fact that all of the NFL team owners, other than one, are white and cited Kaepernick’s stats as a reason to sign him.

The NAACP vice president again refused to answer the question and fell back on the argument that Kaepernick is talented enough to be signed.

Carlson changed the topic as he was not getting an answer to the questions he was asking.

“Here you are sucking up to a guy who signed a $126 million contract. I think in a country of 320 million you could find someone who’s actually a victim of racism or oppression,” Carlson said. “But this guy is 29 years old and has more money than god — he’s the victim?”

“This is about talent. This is about the NFL. This is about the NFL needing to answer the question why the 17th best quarterback in the league is out of a job,” Griggs argued again.

“Your position is so absurd,” Carlson scolded him. “Do you feel that your devaluing any of your moral authority by taking your time and energy defending 29-year-old millionaires against fake accusations of racism.”

But, as was his MO for the entire interview, Griggs again didn’t answer the question.
