You have to hand it to liberals. They can change direction in your face and not crack a smirk.
For months of Democrats declared that the special election in Georgia’s sixth district would be a “referendum” on President Donald Trump.
But after Republican Karen Handel defeated Democrat Jon Ossoff on Tuesday, that narrative quickly changed.
After the Handel was declared the winner, CNN contributor Symone Sanders had this to say.
“I want to be clear. This was not a referendum on Donald Trump as we would have liked for it to be,” she said.
Karen Handel – didn’t even use Donald Trump’s name on the stage tonight,” Sanders insisted.
Apparently she didn’t watch Rep. Handel’s speech on CNN where she thanked gave “a special thanks to the President of the United States of America.”
No she didn’t say “Donald Trump” but there is only one President of the United States of America.
But Sanders persisted in attempting to put a good face on a bitter defeat.
“What they ran on locally was they talked about healthcare. They talked about the economy. Those were the issues that they talked about,” she said of Republicans.
What a novel concept. Talking about the issues.
“People are not happy with Donald Trump but they are more so not happy with these Republican policies,” she said.
They are so unhappy that Republicans are 5 – 0 in special elections since President Trump took office.
And if Democrats keep believing this nonsense 2018 is going to be rough for them.
