“Fox & Friends” issued a clarification after two of its guests on Sunday suggested putting Muslims in internment camps as a solution to radical Islamic terrorism.
On Sunday, Brexit leader Nigel Farage and Daily Mail writer Katie Hopkins both said the idea deserved consideration after the recent terror attacks in Britain.
“Unless people see some really concrete action,” Farage said. “The calls for interning thousands of suspects will grow louder & louder.”
“We do need internment camps,” Hopkins said in agreement during her segment.
After the two interviews, host Clayton Morris clarified that both he, and the network, disagreed with the idea.
“Earlier on the show, we had a couple of guests mention the word internment, the idea of internment camps as a possible solution to this. I think I made it well-known my feeling on that, which I find reprehensible,” Morris said. “But on behalf of the network, I think all of us here find that idea reprehensible here at Fox News Channel.”
