NBC poll headline ‘Most Americans don’t support Comey’s firing’ is hogwash; the poll’s real results …

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed the majority of Americans either approved of, or were indifferent to, the firing of former FBI Director James Comey.

But that is not the way the mainstream media played it.

Only 38 percent of those surveyed said they disapproved of the firing. Whereas 29 percent approved and 32 percent said they had no opinion on it.

And when 61 percent of Americans approve, or have no opinion of what President Donald Trump has done and only 38 percent disapprove, how does the mainstream media spin that?

They ignore the 32 percent that didn’t care and tell the American people that “most” Americans disapprove of Comey’s firing.

“Most Americans don’t support Comey’s firing,” a headline for Yahoo News blared.

Blatantly fake news.

ABC News was better with its headline, but still accentuated the negative.

“More Americans disapprove of Comey’s firing than approve, poll shows.” its headline read.

The New York Daily News took a similar tack with its headline that read “Only 29% approve of President Trump firing James Comey.”

And NBC News itself reported “NBC/WSJ Poll: Just 29 Percent Approve of Trump’s Firing of James Comey.”

When broken down along party lines 58 percent of Republicans approved of Comey’s firing whereas only nine percent of Democrats approved of the president’s dismissal of the man they begged to have fired for months.

The poll also showed that most Republicans believe that the president fired Comey because of his decision to not recommend charges against Hillary Clinton.

Of independents, 42 percent have no opinion on the firing and 21 percent approved. Only 36 percent disapproved of Comey’s ouster.

Many on social media called the poll, and it’s headline, fake news.
