Olympic champ Simone Biles snaps back at ‘Dancing With the Stars’ judges; sets Internet on fire

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles is all business, even in the lighthearted “Dancing with the Stars” competition.

And her sassy response to the show’s host, Tom Bergeron, who asked her why she didn’t show more of an emotional response to the judges giving her all nines, has gone viral.

“Smiling doesn’t win you gold medals,” the 20-year-old gymnast said.

Biles was visibly unhappy with the judges comments. Despite praising her for her spot-on performance, they criticized her for being too good.

“Your skills are unquestionable — you hit every line with precision and perfection,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba said. “But once again I’m going to come back to performance and authenticity about who you are when you perform.”

Judge Julianne Hough, who made news last week when she shared a hilarious video of herself after a dental procedure, thought the routine was too “safe.”

“I think that can be a little dangerous because there wasn’t necessarily something that wowed me. It was just sort of safe,” she said.

“You hit everything with such a ruthless efficiency and because of that at times we lose artistry,” judge Bruno Tonioli said after Biles’ team got all 9 out of 10s.

Something judge Len goodman said wasn’t necessarily good.

“A 9 doesn’t win the mirror ball,” he said, referring to the show’s top prize.

Biles was befuddled by the judges refusal to give her a perfect 10 despite her technically flawless performances.

“I feel like everyone has their own opinion, clearly, and I feel it’s just how you take it,” she told Entertainment Tonight exclusively.

She said she was trying to show the emotion the judges wanted.

“I feel like I am trying, I am being honest, but if they don’t see that, I don’t know what more I can do,” she said.

“You don’t know which wild card of sexy or of happy they want to bring, and you almost have to read their minds and find it,” she said.

At one point, she said, the Olympian nearly cried in front of the judges.

“I had tears in my eyes,” she said. “I almost ran to the bathroom at one point, but I pulled it together.”

But it was her saucy response to the judges that had social media abuzz.
