New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady announced Tuesday that he won’t be attending the White House ceremony for the Super Bowl champions scheduled for the afternoon.
The news came on the same day that former Patriots’ tight end Aaron Hernandez was found dead in his jail cell.
Brady, who has a history of friendship with President Donald Trump, announced, in a statement, that he had to tend to “personal family matters.”

Brady didn’t give a specific reason but his mother has been known to be battling cancer.
But that didn’t stop some on social media from offering their opinions on why Brady was not attending.
And guess what they think the reason is.
Personal reasons = Trump is a treasonous, incompetent bigot!
Thank you Tom Brady. https://t.co/I8pIvXV034
