A pair who both claimed to be lawyers got into a spat over who was allowed to use an armrest on a flight to Spain.
Both parties threw their legal weight at the other to the amusement of other passangers, one whom captured the scene on video.
A male passenger and the female passenger beside him both became enraged when both tried to claim the armrest as their own. An argument broke out as flight attendants tried to ready the plane for departure, according to The Daily Mail.
Both parties demanded that the other person be moved to another seat.
“And I’m a lawyer too, you stupid woman!” a man allegedly in the alteraction can be heard yelling.
The video doesn’t start until the argument had gotten well under way, but once the flight crew begin trying to settle the argument the male passenger can be heard saying, “We are arguing over an armrest. Relocate her; I’m not going anywhere.”
“I paid for this seat. The woman is obnoxious and rude. I’m not moving anywhere, anywhere at all,” the man adds.
At one point, the female passenger is heard telling the flight attendants “he has to move” and that she “knows” her rights.
The woman goes on to claim that the man “punched her” and threatened to sue the airlines if the man isn’t moved.
An amusing part of the video came near end when the flight attendant asked the pair if they were traveling together and both shouted “NO” in unison causing the other passengers to break out in laughter.
The passengers were eventually separated and placed on opposite sides of the plane.
The incident reportedly occurred on a Monarch Airways flight from Gatwick to Malaga in Spain on New Year’s Eve.
