Violent rioters kept Milo Yiannopoulos from appearing at a University of California Berkeley event this week but they are unlikely to have the same effect at his next gig if he is to be believed.
The conservative commentator announced that he will be joining the White House Press Corps on Friday, the New York Daily News reported.
The News asked Yiannopoulos, who is a senior editor for Breitbart News, how he got his press credentials and were treated to a Milo-esque response.
“I’m a senior editor at America’s most influential news outlet. How the f–k do you think?” he told the News via email.
But Yiannopoulos may have toying with the press as he later announced on Facebook that he was, in fact, not headed to the White House.
What Yiannopoulos called “some reports” appear to be his own words given to the Daily News confirming that he was going to be in attendance. He also stated that he did not know if White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was going to call on him or not, the Hill reported.

Yiannopoulos spoke to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Thursday about the riots that kept him from appearing at U.C. Berkeley.
“That is the price you pay for being a libertarian or a conservative on American college campuses,” he told Carlson.

“The media has created this environment in which it’s okay to say almost anything about somebody who is right of Jane Fonda,” he said. “If you have slightly conservative or even libertarian points of view, especially if you are persuasive and charismatic and funny and effective, like we both are, you will get called the most appalling things.”
Yiannopoulos joining the White House Press Corps is another blow to his detractors after it was announced that his book sales for “Dangerous” increased 12,740 percent.
**This post has been updated to report that Yinnopoulos will not be attending the WH press briefing.Â

@thehill One more reason proper journalists should boycott White House Correspondents Dinner. Media should not socialize with despots.
