A Maryland man thought he had the perfect place to propose to his girlfriend at a local waterfall, and if it weren’t for his butterfingers they may have both remembered it as a perfect romantic marriage proposal.

Isaiah Adams came upon what he thought was the most romantic place ever to turn his girlfriend Grace into his brand new fiancé. With hearts dancing in his eyes, Isaiah brought Grace to a waterfall near their Maryland home and surprised her by getting down on one knee and proposing.

Grace was struck with joy and she said “yes” right away but as Isaiah stood and began to fumble to get the ring on Grace’s finger he dropped it. The shocked couple had to watch the symbol of their love bounce into the waterfall and be swept away. The whole thing was caught on video.

“I was crying with happiness but then I was crying with fear at the same time. I looked up and his face was just shock,” Grace told Inside Edition.

The ring was long gone before the pair even had a chance to look for it, but fortunately the wedding is still on.
