Hannity issues Trump a dire warning about political elites: They will turn on you on a dime

Is Hannity getting nervous?

During the campaign Donald Trump had no better friend than Fox News commentator Sean Hannity, but now Hannity is warning Trump that he better be careful as he chooses appointees for his new administration.

Hannity began his Wednesday show by warning Trump not to fall for the establishment’s soothing words as he considers his cabinet and department heads. Hannity was particularly worried that Trump may pick former GOP nominee Mitt Romney for Secretary of State, Fox Insider noted. He also pointed out Trump’s recent meetings with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and climate activist, Al Gore.

“Remember all of the nasty things Romney said on the campaign trail,” Hannity said to Trump during the opening monologue.

Hannity reminded his audience — and Trump — that Romney called Trump “phony,” a “fraud,” and claimed “dishonesty is Donald Trump’s hallmark.”

The Fox News host warned Trump to tread lightly with these Washington insiders because none of them will stand up for Trump if the going gets tough.

“They aren’t your friends,” Hannity insisted. “The political class will turn on him on a dime.”

“If he wants any real friends in Washington,” Hannity added, before advising Trump to “get a dog.”

Indeed, Trump has met with a growing list of people who his voters likely hate. Lefties such as Al Gore, Chicago Mayor and former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, diminutive actor and climate change alarmist Leonardo DiCaprio, and, yes, even establishment shill Mitt Romney have met with Trump at his New York transition office in Trump Tower.

As for Mitt, there have been many voices on the right warning Trump not to pick Romney as his Secretary of State, including close Trump adviser Newt Gingrich.

And as for the dog… it looks like Trump already took someone’s advice and is reportedly taking in adding his sweet Goldendoodle to the family for his son Barron.
