Do you think you have “the stuff” to be an on-air news reader? Well, if reports of a mysterious “casting call” are any indication, it looks like a new “conservative TV network” is looking for you. And despite the suspicions of many, Donald Trump insists it isn’t his doing.
Fox News reported that a casting call for an “up-and-coming conservative media network currently in development” went out this week causing speculation that Fox could have competition lurking in the wings.
This casting call said applicants “must be knowledgeable about conservative viewpoints, current events and the presidential election,” adding they must also “look upscale and intelligent,” and should be “outspoken and energetic.”
Auditions are reportedly to be held in New York held on November 7, the day before Election Day.
Of course, everyone immediately thought this is the first step toward Trump’s rumored new media empire. For months people have speculated that Donald Trump really doesn’t want to become President of the United States but is instead using the whole campaign as a ruse to fuel the launch of his own TV network.
But when Fox queried Team Trump about this casting call news, the cable newser was told that Trump has nothing to do with it.
Trump has denied any interest in building a media outlet before. In October Trump told the Washington Post, “I want to win the presidency and I want to make America great again. It’s very simple. I have no interest in a media company.”
