CNN has cut ties with DNC Chair Donna Brazile following another release of Wikileaks emails that showed she gave debate questions to Hillary Clinton’s campaign in advance.
The network said it was “completely uncomfortable” with emails that showed Brazile forwarded questions to Clinton’s team ahead of a Town Hall and a Democrat primary debate in Flint, Michigan and it had accepted Brazile’s resignation on Oct. 14, though it became public Monday after the second hacked email about Brazile was released.
“On October 14th, CNN accepted Donna Brazile’s resignation as a CNN contributor. (Her deal had previously been suspended in July when she became the interim head of the DNC.) CNN never gave Brazile access to any questions, prep material, attendee list, background information or meetings in advance of a town hall or debate. We are completely uncomfortable with what we have learned about her interactions with the Clinton campaign while she was a CNN contributor,” CNN spokeswoman Lauren Pratapas wrote in a statement.
Oct. 14 was the day after Brazile was first outed by Wikileaks for helping Clinton.
About a week later Brazile called Fox News’ Megyn Kelly a “thief” as she refused to answer whether or not she forwarded questions to Clinton.
