It’s a bit hard to say there is no bias when the media goes out of its way to make sure Hillary Clinton is offered a platform to smear Donald Trump, but the GOP nominee isn’t given a return opportunity — which is exactly what MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell did for her show, “Andrea Mitchell Reports.”
Mitchell pointed to a Trump tweet that taunted Hillary for taking yet another day off the campaign trail.
Hillary Clinton is taking the day off again, she needs the rest. Sleep well Hillary – see you at the debate!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 20, 2016
She then jumped to her own Twitter account to offer Hillary — but not Trump — the opportunity to appear on her MSNBC show to reply to her rival’s needling.
Hi @HillaryClinton @realDonaldTrump tweets u r taking the day off “sleep well” he’ll see you at the debate. Prove him wrong call into #AMR?
— Andrea Mitchell (@mitchellreports) September 20, 2016
But even Mitchell must have realized she was looking like a partisan hack because about ten minutes later she posted this tweet…
@HillaryClinton @realDonaldTrump #AMR just kidding! We know you are meeting with national security advisors maybe next time!
— Andrea Mitchell (@mitchellreports) September 20, 2016
“Juuuust kidding.” Sure she was.
