Louie Gohmert shocker: Seriously, don’t make fun of ‘special needs’ Hillary, she is ‘mentally impaired’

Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert indulged his inner comic during a speech at the Values Voters Summit joking that we shouldn’t make fun of those with special needs and that Hillary Clinton has proven she is “mentally impaired.”

Clinton famously received a concussion in 2012 when she took a fall. Aides claimed she was suffering from dehydration and the stomach flu at the time. But the Democrat nominee also used the concussion as an excuse for not handling her classified email properly during her F.B.I. interview, records show.

For his part, Gohmert was clearly making light of the whole situation, even chuckling after one of his digs at the carrier of the Democrat banner. Amazingly enough, he never strayed far from the truth.

“I do want to warn, since most people here are Christians–and I’m serious about this–a true believer knows what Jesus did, and still does. You know you don’t make fun of people who are impaired, have special needs. And whether you like her or not, Hillary Clinton has made clear she is mentally impaired and this is not somebody you should be making fun of,” Gohmert chuckled from the speaker’s platform on Friday to the delight of the audience who fully understood he was putting on a late-night-comedy-like standup routine.

“So I get the impression that in law school and along the way, she’s been very, very smart. But, I don’t know, maybe it was the concussion, the fall back when she did, or maybe — who knows. They won’t tell us what really is going on with her,” he added.

Gohmert then segued into a riff on Hillary’s smashing of cell phones and blackberries to keep them from the F.B.I. saying, “If I were going to smash cell phones, I’d use a two-pound sledge.” He then added, “well, who knows maybe somebody got to wailing it around and hit her again, I don’t know.”

“There is special needs there, there is mental impairment. I mean, seriously, she can’t remember,” he said.

Perhaps, his timing was off. Not necessarily his comedic timing, but the timing of his bit. The Hillary campaign recently made it clear  they don’t want any more attention called to her questionable health.

Oh, well.
