A man who has been accused of murdering his grandmother by hitting her in the head with a hammer in Mexico has been captured in the U.S.
Elmer Tinoco-Eutimio, 22, was captured in Austin, Texas on Thursday by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and handed over to immigration officials, KXAN reported.

Before his grandmother, 83-year-old Paula Virignia Carabajal-Vargas, died from her injuries in Luvianos, west of Mexico City, she identified her grandson as the attacker.

After the Mexican government requested help from the U.S., Tinoco was found working at a construction site in Austin.
He is now in the hands of customs enforcement pending hearings.
