MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough goes there, questions ‘mental health’ of ‘unhinged’ Trump’

Joe Scarborough, host of the far left cable network’s “Morning Joe” TV show, apparently thinks Donald Trump is mentally deranged even though he and The Donald have been personal friends for some 10 years.

During his Tuesday morning MSNBC program, Scarborough insisted that he was “talking” to a long list of conservative bloggers, politicians and activists. and “all everybody was talking about” was Trump’s mental state.

“Everybody was calling me saying, ‘what’s happening to him what is wrong with him’,” Scarborough claimed.

Trying to assure his viewers that the conversations Scarborough insisted he had with “conservatives” were real, the host added, “It’s not like there was talking points shot out by the DNC.”

The discussion arose over a recent column by left-wing Washington Post bloviator Eugene Robinson who proclaimed that Trump “is just plain crazy.”.

“Does it have to do with his mental well-being?” Scarborough said on Tuesday’s broadcast. “I will tell you why I ask you this. It’s pretty remarkable, I fielded calls all day yesterday from conservatives, from Republicans, from officials, from people that the media would call right-wing bloggers … and everybody was asking me about his mental health.”

The host of the left-wing morning show went on to exclaim that he has known Trump for 20 years, but today’s Trump isn’t the one he’s known. Scarborough was a Republican congressman representing the western panhandle of Florida from 1995 until 2001.

“I’ve known him for a decade,” Scarborough explained. “I’ve never seen him act like this before. It’s unhinged, it’s not the Donald Trump I’ve known for over a decade. I never have seen anything remotely resembling this type of behavior from a guy who I’ve known and liked and called a friend.”

Scarborough then claimed that Trump is now unable to be reached by people who care about him.

“There was a time when people could talk to him and say this is damaging you, this is hurting you, for the kids, it hurts the name, it hurts the brand. Don Jr. could have a really good future,” he said.

“This is insanity, what’s happened the past four days.”

Scarborough then added that Trump was “disconnected from reality.”

It is so bad, Scarborough insisted, that all Republicans who endorsed him should recant.

But one thing doesn’t wash with Scarborough’s claim. The host said this narrative that Trump is mentally unhinged isn’t a DNC talking point, but a review of the media on Tuesday, the day of Scarborough’s broadcast, shows that almost all the press coverage of this very talking point was seen on left-wing news sources but not many of the “conservative” sources Scarborough claimed were calling him.

But Scarborough hardly has a record of supporting his “friend.” Only a month ago, for instance, Scarborough was calling Trump’s supporters “un-American.”

Even more absurdly, during the week of the Democrat convention Scarborough wildly insisted that first lady Michelle Obama — who once said she was never proud of the U.S.A. — was somehow “just like” Ronald Reagan.

Democrat talking points, indeed.
