Vendors at the Democrat National Convention in Philadelphia this week complained they had trouble selling their Hillary Clinton swag.
“The energy around Hillary is, um, not much,” vendor Keaton Weiss told the Washington Post. “She’s gonna really have to ratchet up the enthusiasm among her crowd if she’s gonna really compete.”
The sellers were hawking buttons, T-shirts and various other pro-Hillary and pro-Bernie Sanders merchandise.
“I do see a lot of Bernie supporters,” T-shirt salesman Larry Boween told the Post.
Luke Montgomery, who used a woman in a dress wearing a Bill Clinton mask to draw attention, concurred.
“One of the problems that we’re seeing is that people have known Hillary for so long that there’s not as much enthusiasm because she’s not the shiny new thing,” he said.
