First Lady Michelle Obama gave insight for the first time about how she will be spending her time after she leaves the White House, saying that she will continue her role advocating for education.
Not surprisingly, it’s foreigners who will be benefiting from Obama’s advocacy, as she said she is working with her ‘Let Girls Learn’ initiative, according to POLITICO.
Patriots are cringing at the thought of Mrs. Obama continuing to represent the United States around the world. Surely there will be plenty of taxpayer slush to pay for the pet-project.
“I am so excited to continue working on this issue not just for the next seven months as First Lady, but for the rest of my life,” Obama announced at the first-ever United State of Women summit dinner, which she hosted at the White House. “And it’s going to be good work, because there are a lot of good partners in this room. And I am so looking forward to really diving in.”
Obama will be working in countries such as Liberia, Morocco and Spain, while partnering up and making appearances with her two daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, as well as actress Meryl Streep.
She will be visiting a Peace Corps training facility in Liberia and will hold discussions on girls’ education in that region and in Morocco. In Spain, Obama will be delivering a speech alongside Queen Letizia.
On her summer trip for the education tour this summer, it is estimated to cost taxpayers $300,000 for mere travel alone, according to the Daily Mail.
Needless to say, social media users were not all that thrilled about taxpayers paying for the tour.
