The leading U.S. border patrol organization has endorsed GOP front-runner Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race.
The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) threw their support behind Trump in an exclusive statement to Breitbart News Wednesday, lambasting DC insiders and the media for focusing on Trump’s “tone” rather than his policy positions.
“The fact that people are more upset about Mr. Trump’s tone than about the destruction wrought by open borders tells us everything we need to know about the corruption in Washington,” the NBPC wrote in a statement.
Trump’s campaign has made legal and illegal immigration, as well as robust border security, a key talking point on the campaign trail with the front-runner’s immigration policy papers being considered some of the best policy solutions amongst all presidential candidates.
The NBPC said Trump was the only candidate in the race who has been staunchly fighting to resolve the southern border crisis from the beginning, saying, “our own political leaders try to keep us from doing our jobs.”
“If we do not secure our borders, American communities will continue to suffer at the hands of gangs, cartels and violent criminals preying on the innocent,” the NBPC wrote. “The lives and security of the American people are at stake, and the National Border Patrol Council will not sit on the sidelines.”
The NBPC also praised Trump for not being a career politician and for what they call his refusal to bow to the American media and foreign interests.
“He is an outsider who has created thousands of jobs, pledged to bring about aggressive pro-American change, and who is completely independent of special interests,” the NBPC wrote.
Just recently, Trump announced that he would be working with agents and officials in the U.S. Border Patrol to create border security policy that will reduce illegal immigration coming into the country.
