Liberal comedian Bill Maher continues to be an outspoken critic of his party’s approach toward radical Islam.
On Friday, during his HBO show “Real Time,” he said, “liberals have to stop insisting that the world is the way they want it to be instead of the way it is.”
He brought up an Oregon folk singer named James Twyman going to an Islamic State controlled part of Syria to have a peace concert to change the minds of ISIS fighters.
“You cannot just insist that the reality that you think about in your head is the reality that exists in the world,” he said.
Maher mentioned that after the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino he heard people on television saying that if people learned more about the Islamic faith they’d be less afraid.
“Actually it’s the reverse,” he said. “The more you know the more you would be afraid.”
