President Trump smashes ‘total disgrace’ verdict that set Bowe Bergdahl free

President Donald Trump lashed out on Friday after a military judge decided that deserter Bowe Bergdahl would serve no jail time.

“The decision on Sergeant Bergdahl is a complete and total disgrace to our Country and to our Military,” he tweeted after the decision was rendered.

Bergdahl walked off of his post in Afghanistan in 2009, resulting in the deaths of six military servicemen who were killed looking for him.

The Obama administration also released five high value Taliban prisoners in exchange for Bergdahl.

Prosecutors had asked for a 14-year prison sentence for the deserter, but the judge decided on giving Bergdahl a dishonorable discharge, a loss of rank and forfeiture of pay.

The president joined a chorus of people outraged by the decision.

More chimed in, in support of the president.
