One of Hollywood’s biggest names has been hit with charges of sexually harassing a child, and he didn’t deny it.
“House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey has been accused by “Star Trek Discovery” actor Anthony Rapp of making sexual advances on him when he was 14.
The actor recalled attending a party at Spacey’s apartment in the late 80s. Rapp remembered being the only non-adult at the party, getting bored and wandering into Spacey’s room before being assaulted, he said in a statement to BuzzFeed.
“My memory was that I thought, Oh, everybody’s gone. Well, yeah, I should probably go home,” Rapp said. Spacey, he recalled, “sort of stood in the doorway, kind of swaying. My impression when he came in the room was that he was drunk.” Rapp doesn’t remember Spacey saying anything to him. Instead, Rapp said, “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me.”
“He was trying to seduce me,” Rapp said. “I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”
Rapp recalled this all happening — Spacey appearing at the door, coming into the room, picking him up, and putting him on the bed — in one clumsy action, with Spacey landing at a slight angle on top of him. He said Spacey “was, like, pressing into me,” and that he remembers Spacey “tightening his arms.” But while he can’t recall exactly how long Spacey remained on top of him, Rapp said he was able to “squirm” away after a short period.
“The older I get, and the more I know, I feel very fortunate that something worse didn’t happen,” Rapp said.
And Spacey’s ridiculous response was to come out as a gay man as if that somehow is more important than being a child sex predator.
“I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear his story. I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave then as he describes, I own him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate, drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years,” he said in a statement.
“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life,” Spacey added. “I know that there are stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been protective of my privacy. As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behavior.”

Like Harvey Weinstein when he vowed to take on the NRA after his abuse was exposed, Spacey chose to use a smokescreen to take attention away from the allegations against him by coming out as a “gay man,” in his statement apologizing for the incident. The liberal press fell for it hook, line and sinker!

Kevin Spacey’s comment was wrong on so many levels. https://t.co/5pFhiqMK5W

Can’t believe I’m saying this in 2017 but here it goes:
Being gay is not an excuse for trying to molest children. pic.twitter.com/5mA4o0r7xm

“Sure, I may have tried to rape a 14-year-old boy when I was 26, but I’m gay!” is a pretty horrible defense. #Spacey

Nope to Kevin Spacey’s statement. Nope. There’s no amount of drunk or closeted that excuses or explains away assaulting a 14-year-old child.

part of the horror of spacey’s cynical ploy to use his coming out to deflect abuse allegations is how well it is working

Corey Feldman has been talking about the prevalence of child sex predators in Hollywood for years as he recounted his own stories of abuse against him and fellow child actor, the late Corey Haim.
Actress Evan Rachel Wood predicted it would be “the next dam to break.”
