Rose McGowan, has fired an explosive shot at Ben Affleck over his late statement against Harvey Weinstein, the Hollywood bigwig that helped launch his career.
“I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades,” Affleck said in a statement on Tuesday about Weinstein, who backed he and Matt Damon’s screenplay for “Good Will Hunting.”
“The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters. We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behavior when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power.”

McGowan quickly took to social media to pour cold water on his claims.
“‘GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT’ you said that to my face,” she wrote. “The press conf I was made to go to after assault. You lie.”

Perhaps Affleck’s alleged cover up should be no surprise.
Shortly after Affleck released his statement on social media, a Twitter user reminded everyone of an assault he allegedly committed in 2003.
The person claimed that Affleck grabbed the breast of, then 21-year old, Hilarie Burton when she hosted MTV’s “Total Request Live.”
“He also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though,” they wrote.
Burton confirmed that the incident did happen.
“I didn’t forget,” she wrote.
I didn’t forget.

“I was a kid,” she said.
Seriously, thank you for that. I was a kid.

Burton was 21 at the time of the incident and added that she “had to laugh back then so I wouldn’t cry.”
Girls. I’m so impressed with you brave ones. I had to laugh back then so I wouldn’t cry. Sending love.
