A teenage Muslim girl was arrested in New York for reporting yet another fake anti-Muslim “hate crime,” but now the suspect’s brother is blaming police instead of her sister for the arrest.
Yasmin Seweid, an 18-year-old Muslim student in New York, was arrested earlier this week for filing a false police report claiming she had been harassed on a New York City subway by hate-spewing Trump supporters.
Seweid claimed that on Dec. 1, three white men shouted “Donald Trump” at her while trying to pull her Muslim head scarf off her head. Seweid later lamented in a phony Facebook post that no one on the subway did anything to help her.
But after police began an investigation, the girl admitted she lied about the whole incident and authorities arrested her for filing a false report.
But does the suspect’s family blame the suspect for her actions?
Of course not.
Now Seweid’s sister is hitting up the media and blaming the New York Police department for having the gall to investigate her sister’s claims and then arresting her for her false report.
On Thursday, Yasmin’s older sister, Sara Seweid, posted a furious Facebook message blaming the police and the media for her family’s ordeal, the Daily Mail reports.
“The NYPD should never have been involved in the first place even if the incident did happen,” Sara wrote.
“It became super clear to me the police’s first instinct is to doubt your story and to try to disprove it,” she charged.
Sara continued saying she was “deeply concerned” about young Muslim women who she claims feel they “have to lie so intensely” to survive in America.
“My sister may have lied but she has dealt with an insurmountable amount of violence and trauma both publicly and privately these past two weeks,” Sara exclaimed.
But it now looks like all the “trauma” came from inside the family, not from American society.
Yasmin appeared in public with a shaved head. It’s been widely reported that her hair was shaved off by her parents as punishment for lying and for wanting to date a Christian boy. It also appears now that she made up the story to divert her parents’ attention away from her Christian boy friend and for staying out late and drinking with her school pals.
