President Obama gave his best sales pitch to the American people on why he is going around the Constitution to implement more gun control in America on Tuesday, complete with preaching and even tears.

He even compared the left’s struggle to water down the Second Amendment to the struggle for freedom slaves faced, women’s suffrage and LGBTQ rights.

He continued being as out of touch with reality as he usually as when he began his speech by lumping the terrorist attacks at Fort Hood and San Bernardino in with mass shootings since he has taken office.

“Five years ago this week, a sitting member of congress (Gabby Giffords) and 18 others were shot at at a supermarket in Tucson, Arizona. it wasn’t the first time i had to talk to the nation in response to a mass shooting, nor would it be the last. Ft. hood, Binghamton, Aurora, Oak Creek, Newtown, the navy yard, Santa Barbara Charleston, San Bernardino,” he said.

The president lamented the fact that he had to give his “routine” speech about how he respects the Second Amendment even while usurping it.

“There’s a ritual about this whole thing that I have to do,” Obama said. “I believe in the Second Amendment. It’s there written on the paper. It guarantees a right to bear arms. No matter how many times people try to twist my words around, I taught Constitutional law, I know a little bit about this. I get it. But I also believe that we can find ways to reduce gun violence consistent with the Second Amendment.”

The president insisted his executive actions were not step one in a plan to confiscate the guns of citizens.

“Contrary to the claims of what some gun rights proponents have suggested, this hasn’t been the first step in some slippery slope to mask confiscation. Contrary to claims of some presidential candidates apparently before this meeting, this is not a plot to take away everybody’s guns,” he said.

Obama added that, in his words, the gun lobby is holding Congress hostage but, he said, “they can not hold America hostage.”

The president broke into preacher mode and began sounding more like he was giving a Sunday sermon than a speech on gun control when he began listing different mass shootings and broke down in tears when he got to the Newtown shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary that killed 20 children and six adults in Dec. 2012.

“Our unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, those rights were stripped from college kids in Blacksburg and Santa Barbara, and from high schoolers at Columbine and from first graders in Newtown. First Graders. And from every family who never imagined that their loved one would be taken from our lives by a bullet from a gun,” he said pausing to wipe tears. “Every time I think about those kids it gets me mad.”
