The Democratic Party has come a long way since Bill Clinton was in the White House, and the man credited with helping to put him there expressed his dismay over the leftward lurch into outright socialism.

Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville vented his frustration after the three far-left socialists backed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani easily won their primaries on Tuesday, a shocking result that rattled the crotchety octogenarian.

The “Ragin’ Cajun” shared his thoughts on the banner night for Mamdani that saw incumbent Reps. Dan Goldman (D-NY) and Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) spanked by their radical opponents.

On Wednesday’s edition of his “Politicon” podcast, Carville blasted one of the winners, political newcomer Darializa Avila Chevalier, for her past racist statements, including that white people should be banned from interracial marriages, and she has rudely trashed the American flag.

“Lady, I ain’t in the same party as you,” he said. “I’m sorry… I’m just not. And I actually do think it’s time for Democrats to talk the ‘s’ word: schism. I really do. Everybody’s always said, ‘No, no. we’re a coalition, we’re a big tent, and there’s just some sh*t that I can’t be in the same tent with.”

“And we talk about Mamdani was three for three last night, in Manhattan, they call it the commie corridor,” he said, lamenting the attention that the New York City contests have drawn from the media.

“These people do not like Democrats,” he ranted about Democratic Socialists. “Not only are they not Democrats, they wish Democrats poorly…”

“Maybe there’s a way that you can say to I guess Mamdani is the leader of it, is,” Carville continued. “You know you insist that, you know, try to insist that the people that run under your banner run as a democratic socialist and don’t use the Democratic Party as your guideline, and let’s negotiate on terms of a schism here, maybe we can part out some kind of advantageous terms for both of us.”

“But I’m done,” he declared. “I’m not in that f**king political party. I am totally comfortable in a political party that spends time questioning the policies of the government of Israel. In fact, I’m enthusiastic about that. I don’t want to be in a political party that denies the right of the state of Israel to exist. That’s just not– I just can’t do that.”

The man whose slogan, “It’s the economy, stupid,” catapulted the Clintons into the White House has been a frequent critic of the excesses of the party’s ascendant left-wing and recently threw cold water on the idea that another DSA-backed Democrat, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), is presidential material.

“I don’t think AOC will be the nominee or the next president. I think she is a formidable communicator and figure. The Democratic Party is not a left-wing party,” Carville said on his podcast. “Republicans love to paint Mamdani and look at others, and they’ll pick the new Washington mayor as a socialist, but the Democratic Party is a mainstream progressive party, and AOC will be a force, but she’s not going to be that kind of a force.”
