‘Unacceptable’: Congressman goes missing for a month and we’re now just noticing?

Alarm bells are going off over a Republican Congressman who’s gone MIA.

Fellow lawmakers claim that it’s been a month since they’ve heard from New Jersey Representative Tom Kean Jr.

Kean represents one of New Jersey’s most competitive districts but hasn’t voted since March 5 and missed nearly 50 roll calls, according to Politico.

Kean’s staff has only said that the Congressman is “facing unspecified health issues.”

Fellow NJ Reps Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew said they’ve been trying to reach Kean via calls and texts to check on his well-being, but were met with “radio silence,” according to Van Drew.

“I was looking for him,” Republican Rep Don Bacon said in an interview Wednesday after not seeing him on the House floor. “I didn’t know it was that long.”

The good news is, Kean’s family and inner circle claim he’s on the mend and will be back in business soon.

“I know the congressman and his family appreciate all of the well-wishes and support,” Kean consultant Harrison Neely told POLITICO. “Please know that he will be back on a regular full schedule very soon.”

Union County GOP Chair Carlos Santos told POLITICO that he’s been in contact with Kean and is expected to make a full recovery “in the next couple weeks.”

Nonetheless, the story raised some questions and frustration on X:
