Joy Reid tried to create a State of the Union sing-along that turned into a one-woman show.

Reid was live reacting to President Donald Trump’s address at the ‘People’s’ State of the Union, and decided to belt out some Al Green (not that one) but didn’t exactly get the reaction that she might have been hoping for.

This is a cringe idea, as if the SOTU is a superbowl halftime show.

In all fairness, though, just because the microphone is not picking up the crowd, does not necessarily mean they are not singing along.

But then again I’m not sure how many people know Al Green songs by heart.
