Anti-ICE rioters see full moon, bird, while mobbing hotel reportedly housing federal agents

Daily Caller News Foundation

A patron at a Minneapolis-area hotel mooned a left-wing mob targeting the establishment before delivering a middle-finger salute in a video posted to social media Monday night.

Riots broke out in the Minneapolis area after a Border Patrol agent fatally shot 37-year-old Alex Pretti on Jan. 24 when the two scuffled after Pretti inserted himself into an immigration enforcement operation. Independent journalist Nick Sortor filmed the video of the patron, posting it uncensored online, saying that the rioters opposed to enforcement operations carried out by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) believed Chief Border Patrol Agent Greg Bovino was at the location.

“Leftist rioters just got full on MOONED outside the hotel they suspect Greg Bovino’s staying at,” Sortor posted. “Hope you enjoyed the view, you filthy degenerates.”

The video showed an individual turning around and pulling down his pants, displaying his gluteal area to the anti-ICE rioters before he turned around and extended his middle finger towards the mob.

DHS personnel were involved in two previous incidents: the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good on Jan. 7 by an ICE agent and a Jan. 14 incident when an ICE agent wounded one of three illegal immigrants who ambushed him, with the latter incident provoking an increase in violent opposition to immigration enforcement operations. The Mirror reported that Pretti was a member of a so-called “rapid response” network, a local group that monitored ICE operations in the Minneapolis area.

Good was described as an “ICE interrupter” by former MSNBC host Joy Reid during a Jan. 12 appearance on “Way Up with Angela Yee.” One such group in Minnesota has been monitoring vehicles used by ICE, sharing their locations, and calling for others to confront the agents, which has often resulted in assaults and physical altercations, according to Fox News Digital.

Independent journalist Cam Higby posted a copy of a manual he obtained from one “rapid response” group on X Sunday. The document directs members in the network not to mention ICE when calling 911, but instead to claim that “armed men” were “getting ready to hurt or attack someone” or that a kidnapping is in progress, while also providing direction of how to report ICE to “dispatchers” who can cue in mobs to impede operations to apprehend illegal aliens targeted for removal.

President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of additional federal resources to Minnesota after declaring an end to “Temporary Protected Status” for Somalis in the state on Nov. 22, after City Journal published a report detailing significant welfare fraud in the state in November. The operations have faced resistance from local authorities, with Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis vowing during a Dec. 7 interview with WCCO, a Minneapolis-area TV station, that there would be no cooperation with ICE or other federal immigration enforcement efforts.
