After former President Donald Trump, Elon Musk is fast becoming public enemy number one on the left, especially after the billionaire entrepreneur came out in support of Trump in November, warning of the calamity that awaits the nation if Kamal Harris prevails.
And while the left loves to hate Musk, his brilliance continues to bring innovative ideas to life that have the potential to impact society in tremendous ways. Few of these endeavors top the growing possibility of enabling the blind to see — perhaps for the first time in their lives.
“The Blindsight device from Neuralink will enable even those who have lost both eyes and their optic nerve to see,” Musk explained in a post shared on his free speech platform X. “Provided the visual cortex is intact, it will even enable those who have been blind from birth to see for the first time.”
“To set expectations correctly, the vision will be at first be low resolution, like Atari graphics, but eventually it has the potential be better than natural vision and enable you to see in infrared, ultraviolet or even radar wavelengths, like Geordi La Forge,” he added, referring to the fictional character who appeared in the sci-fi television series Star Trek.

“Even if someone has never had vision ever, like they were born blind, we believe that we can still restore vision using Neuralink,” Musk said back in March.
“I should mention that the Blindsight implant is already working in monkeys. Resolution will be low at first, like early Nintendo graphics, but ultimately may exceed normal human vision,” he added in a post shared on X. “(Also, no monkey has died or been seriously injured by a Neuralink device!)”

Noland Arbaugh, who became paralyzed from the shoulders down after sustaining a spinal cord injury, is the first human to receive Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain implant chip, which is called “The Link.”

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from those who can appreciate Elon Musk for what he brings to the table, as seen on X:
Wow. You are literally saving the world and changing many lives for the better.

Elon Musk is saving the world. Democrats are hell bend on enslaving it. Democrat donors are working every day to eliminate humanity.

Ah so if we are able to see more light does that mean will finally see true reality since our human eyes only see portions of light itself?
— Dom Lucre | Breaker of Narratives (@dom_lucre) September 17, 2024
You probably wouldn’t even care, but with the innovations you have brought this world over your lifetime, @elonmusk, you deserve the Nobel Prize.
— Phil Lip (@lip_philll) September 17, 2024
Elon Musk does more to advance humanity and health then any other person on the planet. Thank-you.
— Daniel Bostic (@debostic) September 17, 2024
These are definitely exciting times to be alive.
It will also be great to see when the Neurallink can be used to enable spinal cord injured people to walk again.

You’ll often hear secular atheists refer to themselves as humanists, but Elon Musk is a true humanist.
He wants to see humans build, explore, thrive, be born in greater numbers, & be healthier.
I’m not sure what I think of some of his ideas, but you have to admire his vision.
