Lamentations and lawfare weren’t enough to slow the Texas governor’s busing plan as the Chicago mayor was caught unaware of the latest suburban arrivals.

Unrelenting in his effort to relieve the pressures President Joe Biden’s unaddressed border crisis has wrought on towns in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) completed a second mission Sunday skirting Chicago’s recent city ordinance designed to obstruct the busing of illegal aliens.
By midday, Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) confirmed that over 350 so-called “asylum seekers” had been flown into the City of Rockford, west of the Windy City, only to be met by buses chartered by the governor that went on to drop off the illegals throughout the suburbs where they could make their way by train into Chicago.
“This morning just after 1 a.m., a private Boeing 777 originating from San Antonio, Texas landed at the Rockford/Chicago airport carrying 350 asylum seekers. There was no communication from Texas, and the City of Chicago was alerted by authorities in Rockford regarding the flight,” wrote Johnson on X.
“Upon landing, asylum seekers were placed on buses chartered by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and dropped in various surrounding suburbs, left to find their way to the city,” he continued. “This is the second recorded instance of the Texas governor transporting asylum seekers via private plane.”

Previously, it had been reported that 120 aliens had similarly been shuttled from El Paso to Chicago’s O’Hare airport the Tuesday before Christmas in response to Johnson’s city ordinance that threatened to impound buses and impose a fine on those if proper permits had not been obtained and illegals were dropped off anywhere but at approved locations or times.
Libs of TikTok shared the scene at one train station in Winfield, Illinois where Venezuelan illegals were spotted dropped off without forewarning to the police.

Sunday’s chartered flight wasn’t the only action from Abbott as Dupage Policy Journal reported that at least 17 buses had dropped off 605 illegals on Dec. 28 who were seen boarding trains from several different stations into Chicago from DuPage County.
A social media post from the City of Rockford detailed that “At this moment, we are not aware of any other flights from Texas coming into Rockford. However, the Texas Department of Emergency Management is managing this situation. We will remain in contact with them.”
The city also stated, “If we get more of these flights, we will activate our local Emergency Operations Center to coordinate logistics and planning to ensure the safety of all involved throughout this process.”
Meanwhile, as Johnson griped over having to deal with the consequences of the open border policies favored by his party, the mayor justified reallocating $95 million in COVID relief funds to cover housing costs for roughly 15,000 illegals in shelters throughout Chicago.
