Britain First: ‘Millionaire actor Richard Gere actively encouraging Third World occupation of Europe’

The protests in France by the migrant community over the police killing a teenager with Algerian heritage is showing no signs of letting up as French authorities scramble to control the violence that threatens to spread to neighboring countries.

Paul Golding, a right-wing political leader who heads up Britain First, took to Twitter amid the chaos to remind social media of a 2019 video of actor Richard Gere speaking aboard an Open Arms ship that was transporting 121 migrants rescued from the Mediterranean Sea — Gere was appealing to Italy to stop “demonizing people” and allow the refugees ashore.

“Here we have the millionaire actor Richard Gere actively encouraging Third World occupation of Europe while he lives in a gated palace,” Golding tweeted.

For what it’s worth, the actor is worth an estimated $130 million so it’s a safe bet he’d be well insulated from unrest such as that being seen from migrants in France who have largely refused to assimilate in their new country.

“We have our problems with refugees coming from Honduras, Salavador, Nicaragua, Mexico…It’s very similar to what you are going through here,” Gere said at the time, according to NBC News, accusing Italy and the U.S. of demonizing migrants. “This has to stop everywhere on this planet now. And it will stop if we say stop.”

The affluent actor appears to be silent today over current events in Europe.
