Democrats took advantage of the nation’s newest federal holiday to remind black people that they’re down with the struggle, but none have a history quite like Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) who once pulled a shotgun on an unarmed jogger of color and who was reminded of his bit of racial profiling by Twitter users.
Fetterman joined his fellow white leftists in giving a Juneteenth shout-out to the voting bloc that is absolutely critical to the party’s electoral hopes, reminding them that they really care on the day that President Joe Biden formally set aside in commemoration of slaves in Texas belatedly being informed of their freedom two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

In 2013, back when he was the mayor of the Pittsburgh suburb city of Braddock, Pa., the hulking, tattooed, hoodie-clad man of the people engaged in a bit of the racial profiling that leftists regularly accuse white police officers of by chasing down a black jogger in his truck and menacing him with a shotgun, an incident that if he was a Republican, would have ended his political career but has been ignored by the media in another example of the preferential treatment given to Democrats.
“I believe I did the right thing but I may have broken the law in the course of it,” a healthier, more lucid Fetterman told a local reporter at the time after he chased down the black man whom he wrongly suspected was guilty of a crime.

At the time, Fetterman denied that he had pointed the 20-gauge shotgun at Christopher Miyares who told a different story about the encounter, saying that he was stalked by the mayor who pulled the weapon and aimed it at his chest.
“He’s trying to make it like it’s ok,” the victim told local news outlet WTAE. “He’s trying to justify what he did. I mean you’re the mayor of Braddock, in North Braddock with a shotgun.”
The Pennsylvania Democrat was dragged down memory lane by Twitter users over the hypocritical nature of his Juneteenth salute.

Pennsylvania Democrats who can’t be accused of practicing what they preach can’t plead ignorance of Fetterman’s racist past because his Republican opponent, Dr. Mehmet Oz, confronted him with the shotgun incident during last year’s debate between the candidates.

“I made a split-second decision to intervene for the safety and protection of my community, and intercepted the person to stop them from going any further until the first responders could arrive. I stayed in my truck and never came in physical contact with the individual. I had my shotgun, but it was never pointed at the individual, and there wasn’t even a round chambered,” Fetterman told the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2021 after he kicked off his Senate campaign.
“Between the ski mask and the way this person was dressed, bundled head to toe in the dead of winter, I didn’t know what race that individual was, or even their gender,” he said.
