Source making bribery allegations against Biden is ‘highly credible’ according to report

Ahead of the FBI’s overdue compliance with a document subpoena linked to President Joe Biden’s alleged influence peddling, some details about the “highly credible” whistleblower came to light.

This week, the House Oversight Committee’s deadline had passed to comply with a subpoena for a form dated June 30, 2020, said to detail allegations of Biden’s involvement in a $5 million criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national.

Committee chair Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) advanced steps to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt over failure to comply with turning over the FD-1023, which documents the account of a known source to the agency, according to Fox News Digital.

Their report that the individual who blew the whistle on Biden’s alleged scheme was a “pre-existing” FBIT source used for “at least several years” prior to the existence of the document, dating back to Biden’s time as vice president during President Barack Obama’s administration. Further, the source was said to be “consistently reviewed by the FBI” and “found to be highly credible.”

As previously reported, Wray had refused to meet the deadline to turn over the document leading Comer to set into motion steps to vote on holding the director in contempt of Congress.

“The FBI’s decision to stiff-arm Congress and hide this information from the American people is obstructionist and unacceptable,” he said.

Fox News Digital obtained a statement from a spokesman for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Comer’s Senate counterpart for the Biden investigation, who said, “We know the FBI has very serious allegations against then-Vice President Biden. The question is what did they do with it. Did they investigate the leads or sweep it under the rug?”

“This is exactly why we need transparency into the document and what the FBI did with it? That’s what Sen. Grassley has sought from the start,” he added.

The FD-1023 is said to reveal “a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose” via the record of a confidential human source. It does not detail whether the FBI had attempted to verify the whistleblower’s charges.

“FBI Director Wray confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer told Fox News Digital. “This form, generated by the FBI from a highly credible human informant with years of experience, tracks closely with what we are seeing in our investigation into the Biden family’s influence-peddling schemes.”

“The Committee has been clear in its intent to protect Congressional oversight authorities and is prepared to hold the FBI Director in contempt of Congress if the agency refuses to comply with a lawful subpoena,” he reiterated.

As it stands, the agency had decided to offer the congressman an opportunity to review the FD-1023 at FBI headquarters but has now agreed to bring the document to Capitol Hill on Monday and provide a briefing on it and the allegations made against the president.

“By offering to provide access to the requested document in combination with a briefing to offer context, the FBI has agreed in good faith to give the Committee all of the information it originally asked for and more,” the FBI said. “The commonsense protections the FBI has requested to maintain the confidentiality of that sensitive information are routinely employed both in response to congressional requests and in court in criminal proceedings to protect the physical safety of sources and the integrity of investigations.”
