Megyn Kelly savages Don Lemon: ‘Never has a colleague so disrespectfully tried to correct … or mansplain to me’

The documented war between CNN hosts Kaitlan Collins and Don Lemon continued apace Tuesday, with the latter making a big fuss after Collins interviewed House Oversight Committee chair, James Comer.

During the interview, Comer defended the GOP’s justified investigation into the alleged influence peddling of the Biden family.

While Collins ostensibly tried to “fact-check” him throughout the interview, Comer continually pushed back by citing reliable facts and sources.

For example, he at one point cited the New York Post’s reporting. Recall that the Post broke the legitimate Hunter Biden laptop story that the rest of the media, including CNN, initially ignored and are, in many ways, continuing to ignore.

Everything about the interview was fine up until afterward when Lemon immediately went off.

“That’s the time that we’re in, where facts are sort of flexible. Citing incredible sources, like citing the New York Post as a credible source and saying that facts are – it’s just, I can’t believe that we’re here,” he initially barked, subtly suggesting he was displeased with Collins’ “fact-checking.”

Co-host Poppy Harlow then rushed in to defend Collins.

“That’s why we got Kaitlan Collins on the Hill, fact-checking in real-time. It was a great interview. Kaitlan, that was a great interview. Alright, moving on,” she said.

But Lemon didn’t want to move on. Instead, he wanted to keep complaining about the Comer interview.

“Hold on, please, with the [commercial] music. That’s a big issue when it comes to the American people. The American people are going to have to suffer through all of this stuff, from election deniers to people who don’t believe in facts,” he said.

“We don’t have a shared reality. And now it’s taking center stage too. People like Marjorie Taylor Greene, an election denier, a conspiracy theorist, a QAnon sort of influencer or supporter presiding over the House of Representatives. It’s a sad day for America when that happens, and it’s a sad time for us when we have to deal with that,” he added.

Harlow then tried to defend Collins again, saying, “That was the point I was trying to make — why it is critically important to constantly, and in real-time, fact check,” she said.

But again Lemon ignored her and continued complaining about the interview, angering critics like conservative commentator Megyn Kelly in the process.

“I have co-anchored w/the best of them. Never has a colleague so disrespectfully tried to ‘correct’ my interview on the air or ‘mansplain’ to me how I did it all wrong-in front of the audience no less! CNN-how much longer are u going to allow this to go on?” the podcast host tweeted later that afternoon.

She went on to praise Harlow for having defended Collins.

Her criticism of Lemon’s antics was joined by others, including some who were quick to point out that, actually, the New York Post’s reporting is very legitimate.

The beef between Collins and Lemon reportedly erupted in December, when he allegedly berated her in front of their TV crew, prompting her to flee from the set in tears.

Their on-air relationship since has been strained. According to reports, this Monday in particular was particularly icy.

Then notably, suddenly Collins disappeared from the set Tuesday and was instead seen conducting interviews and other such things out in the field.

Yet even with her out in the field, Lemon still managed to start drama, which just goes to show that the beef between them definitely runs deep.

Not to mention the host’s beef with Republicans.

“Later on in the show, during a panel discussion with ‘The View’ co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger and former Democratic congressman Mondaire Jones, Lemon trashed Comer’s claims again,” according to Fox News.

In doing that, though, he did at least this time praise Collins.

“As I was watching that very good interview by Kaitlin Collins with Comer, and I had to come out and say something because he is citing sources as credible that are not credible, he is talking about facts of something that’s kind of flexible, and maybe you believe one thing or maybe another, facts are facts. And this is where we are right now,” he said.
