‘She can’t talk like a human being. She talks like a binder.’ ‘The Five’ eviscerates KJP

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s inability to answer a single question about President Joe Biden’s classified documents scandal prompted a flurry of criticism and mockery from the co-hosts of Fox News’s “The Five.”

On Friday’s episode of “The Five,” the co-hosts specifically zeroed in on the non-answer answers Jean-Pierre had supplied during a briefing earlier that afternoon.

During that briefing, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy poked holes through White House spokesman John Kirby’s claim, made two days earlier, that the president had “self-reported” the classified documents.

“Why do White House officials insist that the president self-reported the classified materials if his lawyers initially called the White House and not the Justice Department?” he asked.

Watch:

In response, Jean-Pierre predictably referred him “to the White House counsel,” and so Doocy tried again.

“But we heard from this podium the other day that President Biden self-reported the materials. That’s not what — exactly what happened, is it?” he said.

“Who did you hear that from?” the press secretary then asked.

“John Kirby,” Doocy replied.

“Well, I would refer you to the White House Counsel,” Jean-Pierre then said, reiterating the same non-answer answer she’d given seconds earlier.

In fact, she said this exact line at least five times throughout the whole briefing.

Over at “The Five,” the co-hosts were not impressed.

Fill-in co-host Brian Kilmealde slammed her for trying “to protect the president by not answering any questions or pretending as if she couldn’t answer these questions.”

He added that she’s “so bad at her job she can’t remember what other officials say.”

Listen:

Co-host Jesse Watters concurred.

“‘I’m sorry, I’m gonna have to refer you to the White House counsel.’ You can only use the line in special moments. That can’t be your answer for every single question,” he said.

“And that’s why Kirby’s quality, because Kirby has the wherewithal to be able to dance and move, dip appropriately, and talk like a human being. She can’t talk like a human being. She talks like a binder,” he added.

Indeed, Jean-Pierre has faced massive criticism for relying on her binder of information for all her supposed answers.

Watters continued by speculating that she’ll “probably be fired or resign within the next couple months.”

“I hope that when I’m Joe’s age, that Emma [his wife], when I’m asked a tough question as I’m leaving a restaurant, does the same thing with me and just kind of ushers me out of there gracefully, because man does Joe need a lot of help,” he added.

Speaking next, co-host Jeanine Pirro said Jean-Pierre is either complicit in “blocking the information” on behalf of the administration or “she’s inaccurately saying, you know, only the White House counsel can answer this because there’s an investigation ongoing.”

“Which we know is inaccurate, because during the Russia collusion investigation, they answered all the time. But the most important thing is their own self-esteem. I mean, how does the woman go out there? Does she not know how embarrassing it is — how she looks ridiculous not being able to answer anything?” she added.

The hosts then played a video of fellow Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer, who used to serve as press secretary under President George W. Bush, opining about Jean-Pierre’s odd behavior.

“The press secretary in this case, her political and personal needs dovetail perfectly with the stonewalling needs of the Biden White House. And that’s why she won’t answer any questions. I could have played that game innumerable times as press secretary,” he said.

“But you get to the point where you say, ‘I’ve got an obligation. Actually, these are fair questions, good questions, and they deserve answers. And I’m the press secretary. It’s my burden to answer them.’ And that’s what you do as press secretary. In so many ways I would feel shamed if somebody else took to the podium and answered the questions that it was my job to answer,” he added.

Fleischer previously complained about Jean-Pierre’s habitual usage of a binder.

“I had a big binder and I used it, if you recall, for maybe the first month I was in office. And then you really don’t need it anymore, and it’s awkward to flip the pages. You know, if you’re in the meetings, you don’t need the big book. If you’re in the meetings, you heard it for yourself, you learned what the president said, and then you have the discretion to go to the podium and know what to say and what not to say,” he said during a Fox News segment last month.

“I don’t know where she gets her information from. But if she has to still rely on a book like that, something tells me she’s not in the meetings, so she doesn’t know, so she has to rely on what other people write for her to say. That’s a really impossible job to fulfill if that’s how the job is set up. You have to be in the room and then you have to be fast on your feet and deal with the White House Press Corps. Easier in a Democratic administration than a Republican. But still, that’s the job,” he added.
