The major establishment media has nearly completely ignored the “Twitter Files” that are exposing the deep corruption, censorship, and news manipulation that existed at the social media giant prior to billionaire Elon Musk’s acquisition of the company and his subsequent housecleaning.
Despite the evidence of politically motivated censorship and a clear bias to shape the narrative in a manner favorable to the Biden regime and the ruling Democratic Party which, in normal times, would be a major scandal, a media which has been complicit in shaping the current Orwellian environment has simply refused to cover the story.
A Fox News Digital review of transcripts from multimedia marketplace Grabien found that since Friday, when the initial documents were posted by journalist Matt Taibbi, “networks have only discussed the Twitter files for a combined total of 14 minutes. The term ‘Twitter files’ has only been used six times on-air over the same span of time,” the outlet reported.
“CNN covered the story for three minutes, only on Dec. 9, while MSNBC spent two minutes on the story the same day, as well as five minutes on Dec. 11 and four minutes on Dec. 12,” according to the Fox News Digital analysis. “CBS News, ABC News, and NBC News have not discussed the Twitter files in the last week.”
On Monday’s edition of Fox News’ popular daytime show “Outnumbered,” the crew discussed the media’s lack of coverage of the damning internal Twitter materials as well as the possible motivations for the silent treatment.

Co-host Emily Compagno kicked off the segment by quoting from a New York Post column by Miranda Devine on the mainstream media’s “shameful” silence on what should be the story of the year, singling out the nation’s two most influential newspapers, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
“Every morning, these august organs set the narrative for newsrooms across the country, and yet, time and again, we see them ignore stories that don’t suit their own agenda as propaganda purveyors for the Democratic Party and the security state,” wrote Devine, adding that Twitter isn’t the only culprit in the censorship “which no doubt is replicated across Big Tech, including at Facebook and Google.”
“The best description for what The Times and WaPo are doing is ‘totschweigetaktik,’ a great German word for ‘death by silence,’ a tactic to kill ideas or news stories by ignoring them,” added Miranda.
Political analyst Rob Smith who contributed to the discussion called it “fake news by omission” and that “they are literally omitting things so that people don’t know it,” adding the point that the “mainstream media is not as powerful today as it has traditionally been and that new alternative media sources are more important than ever.
Offering his insight as a trained journalist, Smith added “I want to note the entire infrastructure of people who go to a lot of different media sources from people like they trust like me, that they find online.”
“So I would like to say that even though it is absolutely shameful that these media organizations are ignoring this, I’m actually thankful that there is a bigger new media infrastructure out there,” dismissing critics of Musk’s timing of releasing the “Twitter Files” on Friday night and over the weekend, an off time for the news cycle.
“What we’re in right now is a new media era where we are consuming this stuff all the time,” he added. “So these people have a lot of power, but their power dissipates every single year and that makes me hopeful for the future.”
Co-host Harris Faulkner was less optimistic, “Oh, gosh. I wish I had that hope. I do have a lot of faith that we can move mountains, but at the same time I know that hope is not a strategy, prayer is, so. I’m going to pray that people do find this information in other places, that they’re hungry for it.”
“The problem is the legacy media and the liberal outlets, have existed for so long they take up all the ad space,” she added. “They funnel you into certain places to go to get certain information and they don’t have to work that hard to do it and If it means they can sit down and be more complacent about things, there’s an understanding about that.”
“People are automatically going to say on the left that they believe them before they believe us, even we shout from the wind with more facts than anybody can ignore,” Faulkner continued. “What Elon Musk is doing though, is he’s giving a platform for everybody to talk. So when I hear silence from certain media outlets that say that they print all the news that fits on the page and they do all that kind of stuff, and they’re so good, they’ve named themselves after the alphabet, ABC…”
“And democracy dies in darkness,” Smith interjected, referring to the Washington Post’s ridiculous motto that the paper rolled out right after the election of Donald J. Trump.
Faulkner then posed a very serious but to this point, largely unasked question on the media’s complicity with the Twitter censorship regime, “When I hear all of that, they’re silent, what does the Twitter files have with their names? What’s coming?”
“And you mentioned the complicity,” she continued. “I want to know if the black lists and the search lists and some of those things were not sold to other media arms and platforms, and was Facebook doing something very similar and they didn’t have to work hard to figure out who ought to be on that list, because maybe they share these lists.”
“That’s not conspiratorial, that’s based on the evidence that now we’re reading it and we’re seeing how damaging it can really be and certain folk are silent,” she said.
