‘Good for him!’ Philly gas station owner cheered by many after hiring heavily armed private security

A Philadelphia gas station owner is getting plenty of attention for his innovative new idea on how to deal with the brutal crime wave in the City of Brotherly Love, areas of which have become the equivalent of a war zone as a result of entrenched Democrat political leaders and their criminal coddling policies.

Fed up with the menacing of his employees and customers, Neil Patel who owns 12 gas stations in the area, including the KARCO at Broad and Clearfield streets in North Philly, brought in professional security forces who are heavily armed to keep the bad guys away, a sign that at least one business owner is no longer going to allow himself to be victimized by violent thugs who have been emboldened by the hands-off approach to law enforcement preferred by radical George Soros-backed district attorney Larry Krasner.

“They are forcing us to hire the security, high-level security, state level,” Patel told FOX 29. “We are tired of this nonsense; robbery, drug trafficking, hanging around, gangs,” he added, explaining his decision to bring in security forces from Pennsylvania S.I.T.E State Agents to protect the property which they patrol clad in Kevlar vests while carrying weapons including AR-15 shotguns.

“Selling their drugs openly. Cops here, they don’t do anything. Robberies, stealings, vandalizing my car,” Patel said.

“The first week, there was tension from the public seeing someone with an AR shotgun walking around,” said Agent Andre Boyer, who told ABC Philadelphia that people asked, “‘Why are you here? Are we in Beirut?'”

“We’re Pennsylvania State Agents and we’re not security. Basically, what we do is security details when the public calls upon us when the police can’t be there,” Boyer explained.

Customers have expressed positive sentiment for the protective presence, “It’s nice and safe for me, I can get my juice, go back to my car without worrying about somebody jumping in it,” a man named Jack Rock told the outlet.

“If you’re trying to get gas, you’re in a bad area and the only place is here and they’re getting robbed all the time, I support the owner, ” customer Korrie Barry told Fox 29.

According to Philadelphia Police Department statistics, violent crime at gas stations has spiked over the last two years with firearm robberies and carjackings up dramatically over 2020 and prior, a trend with rampant criminal activity that has exploded in Democrat-controlled cities since the George Floyd riots of summer 2020 when politicians, media, sports leagues and corporations all made excuses for marauding criminals looting and burning across the nation.

Twitter users reacted to Patel’s drawing the line on violent crime.

Krasner is currently facing an impeachment effort with his survival uncertain but, in more bad news for Philly – and Pennsylvania as a whole – Democrats pretty much ran the table in last month’s midterm elections.
