Perhaps reflecting the mindset of lockdown-loving, mandate-making Democrats generally, the Biden administration is receiving heavy criticism for its feeble support of the protests in China.
The usually compliant Chinese population has become understandably outraged over the CCP-controlled government’s so-called zero-COVID policy and has taken to the streets all across the vast country to protest the strict limits on movement imposed by the communist regime.
Videos of resilient, pro-freedom demonstrations in what has become known as the “white paper revolution,” including the police response, have been widely shared on social media.
After a tumultuous weekend of dissent, the situation in China calmed down somewhat Monday, but protests are likely to continue, Fox News reported.
The ruling elite under President Xi Jinping has shown no signs of lifting the draconian restrictions.
The social unrest was reportedly prompted by the death of 10 persons in an apartment fire that occurred in Urumqi in the Xinjiang region “that the public believes was caused by excessive lockdown measures that delayed rescue,” AP previously reported.

According to UPI, “Images on social media and international news outlets showed citizens holding up blank sheets of paper, symbolizing the heavy-handed censorship that the government imposes to stifle any dissent. Information about the protests, which some are calling the ‘white paper revolution,’ has managed to spread on the Chinese internet despite Beijing’s tight control.”
A statement released by President Biden’s White House handlers read, in part, that “We’ve long said everyone has the right to peacefully protest, here in the United States and around the world. This includes in the [People’s Republic of China].”
In the same announcement, the administration disavowed a zero-COVID initiative and championed vaccines and booster shots.

During the height of the COVID epidemic in the west, however, governments and corporate media organizations seemed to become enamored with the CCP model in its various authoritarian dimensions.
China’s emergence as an economic powerhouse has also created rampant conflicts of interest throughout the globalist cohort, including by those who claim the mantle of protecting democracy.
The media also initially discredited the theory that COVID leaked from a Wuhan, China, lab out of animus toward former President Trump.
Soon-to-retire Dr. Anthony Fauci is still operating as something of a China apologist insofar as the origin of the coronavirus is concerned.
Allegations have also emerged that Biden allegedly pressured far-left Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to crack down on the freedom convoy.
As alluded to above, hardly anyone is impressed with Biden’s response.
On Sunday, prior to the White House statement, conservative influencer Jack Posobiec weighed in on what might be behind the muted reaction by the Democrat-controlled, federal executive branch as well as other governments.
Remember, no Western leaders said a thing about the CCP's covid zero lockdowns
The same way they are silent about the protests today
They're all on the same team

Biden can't speak out against the CCP crackdowns bc they own him. Imagine the blackmail they have on his family, given what we already have seen on the laptop

Here is just a sample of the Twitter responses that rolled in on Monday that sought to educate the “weak” Biden team on what’s really going on:
What utter weak sauce https://t.co/HhQ0Mxm1Yg

Pathetic Statement from the Biden Admin. We should be a beacon for freedom across the world. https://t.co/XeuXBvZ5GT

Biden’s statement on the White Paper Revolution is a disgrace https://t.co/beLDDlb9Zq
— Jack Posobiec 🇺🇸 (@JackPosobiec) November 28, 2022
Once upon a time, America was the beacon for freedom around the world.
Now, apparently, we're scared of being that beacon if it means annoying China.
Quite pathetic, honestly. https://t.co/Urekcc1MQc

Weak statement from @POTUS, alas, and a bit misleading. China's protestors are upset about lockdowns, yes, but also authoritarianism, a terrible economy, rampant corruption. The protests aren't just about COVID. https://t.co/3WZ9jObZyG

This statement is trash. Sure, Zero COVID is dumb policy. But the policy reflects the goal of the Chinese Communist Party, which is absolute government control. The real problem here is the totalitarian regime that murders dissidents and enslaves its citizens. Let’s be clear. https://t.co/QvyqTqbUU0

What is this crap? These protests are about freedom and liberty. We should be supporting them, not disputing about what is best Covid policy.
Another Biden admin foreign policy comms fail. List is getting long… @JakeSullivan46 continuing his trail of tears and failure.

That can’t be real…”we pursuing”?
— Chris Wells (@ChrisbWells) November 28, 2022
Setting aside the butchery of the English language, what a weak statement. And late.
I guess Biden getting Xi’s permission to issue it took awhile. After all, Xi’s kinda busy at the moment.

Such a soft statement from WH! How about “we stand with Chinese people who fight for freedom and against a tyrannical regime”?
— 殉道者 (@6699xundaozhe) November 28, 2022
This is what you get when the people in the White House mat be beholden to the CCP in some way.
Also, the authoritarian tactics of the CCP are seemingly admired by people in this administration as well as several 3 Letter agencies.
— Crobb praying for grace (@crobb203) November 28, 2022
What is their view on Trudeau blocking bank accounts of people who supported Freedom Convoy?
AFAIK, truckers’ protest was peaceful, not “mostly peaceful”. All the violence came from Trudeau.
I am curious to hear WH take on it.— LibertyValley (@Sloboda42769006) November 28, 2022
Pathetic and embarrassing.
The Biden regime is fully in the tank for the CCP.
10% for the big guy, and all.
— Your Mom Is A Bot (@wsliger) November 28, 2022
Well, unless you are protesting at the Capitol on Jan 6?
