Independent congressional hopeful Mike Itkis may have as much chance of unseating Democrat Jerrold Nadler in the upcoming midterm elections as a snowball in hell but he has made a name for himself for the peculiar method in which he’s promoting one of his top policy initiatives.
Itkis, a self-described “liberal independent candidate” who faces the herculean task of toppling the longtime incumbent in New York City’s 12th Congressional District put out a graphic sex video to promote his “sex positive approach” domestic policy initiative.
In the video which is entitled “Bucket List Bonanza” which he posted to the popular adult content-sharing site PornHub, the candidate gets down and dirty with pornographic performer Nicole Sage in a 13-minute tryst with the much younger woman which he described as “a conversation piece” to City & State, a website that covers New York politics and culture.
“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue. And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform,” he added.

Itkis said that video was his first time having sex on camera but “insisted he’s not an exhibitionist,” according to City & State “I’m kind of a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important… I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way.”
Born in Odesa, Ukraine when it was still a part of the Soviet Union, Itkis touts his cybersecurity credentials, including being a cyber operations officer for the US Army as well as public sector experience with financial institutions Merrill Lynch, IBM, Societe Generale, and Bank of NY.
Itkis describes himself as “Not married. No kids. Not celibate. Atheist,” on his website.

Also on his website, the candidate outlines his “sex positive approach” which, among other things, calls for the decriminalization and legalization of sex work.

“My argument is that I’m a liberal with drastically different views,” Itkis said in an August telephone conversation with New York Weekly. “I’m a single adult in New York City. The policies we have now are geared towards traditional family structures, but America is and has been moving away from what’s considered traditional. That’s not something that Jerry or Carolyn have talked about.”
Itkis was referring to Nadler and Rep. Carolyn Maloney whom he pulverized in the Democrat primary for the recently redrawn district, kicking the longtime congresswoman off of the government gravy train.
“The first thing they tell you in politics class is ‘pick a party,’ but my views just don’t align with those of any one party. I happen to be a single and urban liberal, but the ‘woke’ movement is pushing people away from voting Democrat,” Itkis explained to New York Weekly. “Having experienced life in the Soviet Union first hand, I don’t want to see freedom of speech restricted from the right or the left, or identity politics tearing us apart. A first step to ending the division is to break away from the orthodoxy. If there was someone else I could support, I would.”
Nadler’s campaign declined to comment on Itkis’ porn video to City & State. His GOP opponent Mike Zumbluskas told the outlet, “You gotta do what you gotta do.”
