Heckler scolds comedian for being a Biden voter, confrontation escalates into beer-throwing spat

A Jewish female comedian became a social media superstar for her reaction to a belligerent fan during a weekend show at a New Jersey comedy club when a political spat led to a beer being thrown at her from the audience which she calmly picked up and chugged down.

The incident went down at Uncle Vinnie’s Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach where Ariel Elias was interacting with the audience when a woman asked her if she voted for former President Donald J. Trump. Her response set the stage for the chain of events that would nearly break Twitter after a video of the exchange went viral, drawing the attention of liberal late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and other big-name comics.

“What’s your question?” Elias asked the audience member who responded “Did you vote for Donald Trump?”

“Did I vote for Donald Trump? What do you think?” Elias said in response to which the woman in the audience replied “No,” and things went downhill in a hurry from there.

“OK,” Elias said, joking. “Here’s a question for you: why would you ask me that in here, knowing I’m the only Jew in this room? Are you trying to get me killed?”

“And if it makes you feel any better, I vote in New York, my vote doesn’t matter there,” she added, referring to a deep blue state that votes overwhelmingly Democrat.

“It doesn’t matter here either,” a male audience member shot back.

“It doesn’t matter — guys, everybody vote for whoever you want to vote, I don’t care who you voted for, I’m just happy we’re all here together,” Elias said, appearing to try to defuse what was on the brink of becoming a tense situation.

“So you voted for Biden,” the woman accused her.

“I dunno, why does it matter?” Elias asked.

“Yes you did!” the woman said.

“Yeah, so what, what does it matter?” Elias asked again.

“I could just tell by your jokes, you voted for Biden,” the woman responded.

“Alright. I can tell by the fact that you’re still talking when nobody wants you to that you voted for Trump,” Elias said, drawing loud applause from the audience.

“So rude! Telling me to stop talking!” the woman could be heard yelling. “No one was telling me to stop.”

“Alright, make some noise if you want her to shut up,” Elias said, encouraging the audience to respond.

Soon afterward as she was getting back into her routine, a projectile whizzed past her head and smacked into the wall, a beer can which from the sound of it, was mostly full.

“Come on, buddy, you can’t do that here,” a man in the audience was heard saying as Elias calmly picked up the beer can and chugged it down to the approval of the audience.

The club posted the following message to Twitter, “Hey Ariel just so you know we found out the guys name and we’re pressing charges today.”

In another tweet, the club identified the culprit, “It was the woman’s white trash husband.”

Elias updated her fans on Twitter, “Fwiw the club is pressing charges against the guy and booked me to come back in April.”

Among those reacting to the viral video of the incident were famous left-wing comics.

“five stars for this flawless performance,” tweeted Kimmel offering high praise for Elias.

Elias then asked the host if she could appear on his show to which he replied “definitely” in likely anticipation of another way to bash Trump and his supporters in front of a national TV audience.

Another high-profile comic, virulently anti-Trump Patton Oswalt tweeted, “Ariel wasn’t even doing political material. The drunk heckler was craving what every MAGAt craves — grievance and revenge. And they’ll alter the reality before their eyes to get it. ‘You SOUND like you voted for Biden.’”

After the incident, Elias joked “I’d really appreciate it if anyone could please just let my teachers know that chugging a beer has in fact been great for my career.”

While the vast majority of the attention that the incident has gotten is a result of it being another chance for leftists to use the ugliness of a few people to paint all of Trump’s supporters with a broad brush of negativity, there is no dispute that Elias handled it like a boss.
