Mark Levin explains why the progressive left, aka ‘American Marxists,’ cannot support Constitution

Progressives take no prisoners in destroying our Constitution and Mark Levin recently laid out the gory details for all to see.

Democrats and progressives desperately scheme to work around, negate, or undo the checks and balances our founders so masterfully embedded in the Constitution, noted the host of Fox News’ “Life, Liberty, and Levin” on Sunday.

President Joe Biden, in framing his battle as between democracy advocated by Democrats and autocracy advocated by Republicans, doesn’t even understand that the United States is not a democracy. Our founders rejected that system in favor of a republic in which the people elect representatives for themselves. Levin, of course, does understand.

“Republicanism. They embraced representative government. They embraced constitutionalism… checks and balances, separation of powers. It’s right there in the Constitution. It’s right there in the Federalist Papers,” Levin said. “But I don’t expect Joe Biden, who served in the Senate 36 years and took an oath to uphold this document… to comprehend any of this.”

“And the reason is simple, ladies and gentlemen. You cannot be a Progressive, or as I call them, American Marxist, and support the Constitution,” he continued before mentioning the 120-year history of their efforts to “cut through it… because it puts checks on their power… The purpose of the Constitution is to protect the individual. The purpose of the so-called Progressive movement is to dehumanize the individual.”

Democrats want to completely undermine the vital separation of powers that prevent politicians from becoming too monstrous and pounding on citizens they don’t like. California is an example of this at the state level that, as with everything Californian, leftists want to wreak upon all 320 million Americans, Levin noted,

“There was a temporary majority [in California government], and they used the opportunity to fundamentally alter all aspects of government, so the Democrats could never lose, now look at that state of California.

“They want to eliminate the Senate filibuster. Why?” he asked. “Well, because they have a temporary majority and they want to ram through and impose their agenda with a 50-50 Senate and a three or four-vote majority in the House.”

Democrats are also driving to add Puerto Rico and Washington D.C., longtime Democrat strongholds, as new states in order to rack up a permanent Senate majority and completely swat down those pesky little flies from flyover country.

Levin called them all out on this. He also showed they seek permanent power by abolishing the Electoral College, thus ensuring the resource-rich rural states assume their rightful place as colonies of the megapolis enclaves. The Founders were, unfortunately for the Progressives, ardent students of history going back to ancient Greece and beyond. They also experienced the oppression of having no voice in government. This is the very reason they rebelled and founded our nation, ensuring an equal voice for all states in the Senate.

“The purpose of the Progressive movement,” is not to protect the individual, Levin noted, but, “to talk about groups of people, socially engineer society and centralize government under a relative handful of masterminds.”

In typical style, Levin went on to lay out many examples of the Progressive assault on progress, taking us back to the days of colonialism and before our Constitution came along to protect the populace from the powerful.
