Here’s something you’ll probably never see again in your lifetime.
During a college football game Saturday between the LSU Tigers and Southern Jaguars, a young LSU fan casually strolled out into the field right in the middle of a play. He proceeded to watch the play without a single care in the world.
About 15 seconds into his bizarre watch-fest, a police officer began approaching the fan. In response, he turned around and then just stood there staring at the officer.
Once the officer reached him, the officer then proceeded to put his hands on the fan, prompting the fan to start acting like a criminal resisting arrest.
And well, the rest was football history.

Man this had me rolling 😂 dude just took a brisk walk to the 10 in the middle of the game pic.twitter.com/utcV0Ec0a7

But why? Why on Earth did he do this?
The going theory is that he was high to the sky.

He thought he was in a movie scene on those shrooms lol

Those edibles had him thinking the big screen in his backyard was SUPER realistic.

Now, you’d think members of the public would be annoyed with the young man for displaying such gall and entitlement. But you’d be partly wrong.
As is typical in this day and age, some members of the public appear instead to be mad at the police for allegedly handling him too roughly.
Apparently, they were supposed to “deescalate” the situation somehow.
Look:
I mean, I get it, he’s trespassing, but is this necessary for a 15 year old kid?
One is wrestling him and the other is putting all the weight he can onto his skull.
Maybe we should start having stricter job requirements for police if they can’t single-handedly restrain a child? pic.twitter.com/URvrBQlVVo

I’ve seen less force used when cops are called to break up physical disputes.
My man was just trespassing.
He prolly would have even cooperated if they asked him to please leave with them.
Seemed to escalate quickly. And not because of the purp.

Obviously these officers have no idea how to descalade a situation. The officer automatically puts hands on the man instead of trying to ask him to leave the field.
— Why All The Anxiety (@DeBordTd71) September 11, 2022
Why do the cops come and use force right away? Not even 2 min of talk. Like, hey dude, want to come over and sit down, down there…?
— LM 🇨🇦 (@larocque_lyne) September 11, 2022
Why do American cops feel the need to push his head down? He’s not dangerous or anything.
— mainlynba (@jackbarty1) September 11, 2022
Gotta love how it took 14 cops to apprehend a kid who weighs 120lbs🙄
— The Original atNuggets Nation (@Nuggets_Nation) September 11, 2022
But not everybody agrees. Some say the cops had no other option but to get immediate control of the situation because the fan had placed himself in a dangerous situation.
Plus, they argue, the fan immediately started resisting instead of cooperating.
Look (*Language warning):
You wanted them to stop the game for 2 minutes while the cop politely asks him to leave the field that he’s trespassing on? If 30 more kids do it after that should they wait an hour to restart the game?

Cop grabs his arm and he starts resisting. Stop looking for police brutality in every interaction. They escalated the force as necessary for the situation. Nobody was hurt and the situation was brought under control.

He asked for it. He knew he is not supposed to go on the field. Players might accidentally hurt/kill him. To some comments, stop blaming cops for everything.
— Chance (@Khmergirl2645) September 11, 2022
I love how you defend someone who was completely in the wrong. If he’s not on the field this doesn’t happen. The cops in this instance did nothing wrong.
— Dean Reigner (@bigreigner) September 11, 2022
Why didn’t he just get the fuck off once the cops got there? Looks like they were pretty chill at first.

As of Sunday afternoon, the man’s identity and motive still remains unknown.
That said, what’s become abundantly clear is that this man is destined for a place in the history books. Why? Because lo and behold, he’s managed to turn himself into a meme.
