Actor Gary Busey charged with groping women at horror film convention meet and greet

Actor Gary Busey apparently groped his way through a horror film convention last weekend.

The 78-year-old “Buddy Holly Story” award-winning actor was facing multiple charges including two counts of “criminal sexual contact” due to his behavior at the “Monster Mania” convention held at the Doubletree Hotel in Cherry Hill, New Jersey from August 12 to 14, police reported.

“It was about contact. It was about touching,” Lt. Robert Scheunemann with the Cherry Hill Police told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Friday’s charges against the “Point Break” actor also include one count of “harassment” and one count of “criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact.”

Not all fans were put off by Busey as evidenced by one female fan who posted on Instagram, “He gave me compliments and made me blush. Nice guy!”

Busey was a featured attendee at the three day convention due to his 1985 role in Stephen King’s “Silver Bullet” as Uncle Red and later films including “Predator 2,” “Rookie of the Year” and “The Firm.”

“We are VERY excited to welcome GARY BUSEY back to MONSTER-MANIA CON after a very long absence! GARY BUSEY will be attending MONSTER-MANIA CON 50 which will be held the weekend of AUGUST 12-14 in CHERRY HILL, NJ!” the Convention Scene website posted in April.

This may not be the first time Busey wasn’t able to get a grip on his groping as one person on Twitter pointed out by sharing a dozen screenshots of what looks like tweets that include the words “Gary Busey” and “felt up.”

“If you search ‘Gary Busey’ and ‘felt up’ these are some results you get. If this happened to you within a fairly recent amount of time (depending on the statute of limitations for sexual assault for the state) you need to file a complaint with the authorities where it happened,” she wrote.

The photo included a 2013 post that claimed, “Omg Gary Busey felt me up!!!!”

Another screenshot suggested that this wasn’t the first time Busey got frisky at a horror convention, “Gary Busey once felt me up at a horror convention,” the tweet read.

“Gary busey just felt me up life is awkward,” another post from 2011 read.

Busey’s up-and-coming career was dampened by a 1988 motorcycle accident that resulted in a massive brain injury that limited his ability to self-censor and “turned his personality up to 11.”
