‘This is a MAGA hospital’: Skeptics doubt man’s claim surgeon switched TV from MSNBC to Fox News

A purported retired doctor who describes himself as a “an old guy with a guitar and an expensive education” claims that he lodged a complaint with a hospital because a surgeon allegedly changed the TV channel from MSNBC to Fox News.

New Jersey Democrat Jo started a Twitter thread by informing her nearly 500,000 followers, “If I ever walk into a business and Fox News was playing on TV, I am walking the f–k out. Would you join me?”

That’s when “Jerry” chimed in with his lived experience:

“I was in the hospital a while ago. Was watching MSNBC when the surgeon come in and switched my TV to Fox News. I told her we weren’t going to have any conversation until she switched back to my channel. I asked for a different doctor and filed a formal complaint.”

Apart from many diehard liberals who apparently have a visceral reaction to Fox News if it is showing on a television in any establishment that they frequent, which allegedly includes rock icon Peter Frampton, Jerry’s story prompted widespread mockery.

Parenthetically, the leftist boycott doesn’t seem to be having much of an effect:

MSNBC fan Jerry did follow up by insisting that the dispute actually occurred even though it does seem questionable to many. After all, is it plausible that a surgeon would fiddle around with a TV remote in the course of examining or interacting with a patient?

“I see that the MAGA’s came out in force. I’m a retired doctor. I was in for tests and exploring options available to me. The events described did happen. The results were not made known. The actions of the Surgeon were unacceptable. The TV was muted. Interns present. I fired her,” Jerry claimed.

What are the chances that MSNBC will invite him on the channel to discuss how he allegedly fired a female physician?

To avoid any hassles, some businesses have opted for nonpolitical programming (travel, food, etc.) in waiting room areas. Separately, certain vendors can provide customized content on a targeted basis, apart from what is ordinarily available with a standard cable or satellite subscription.

Medical facilities sometimes have health-and-wellness information playing in a rotation on TV screens.

If you happen to be a member of a gym in a blue state or a blue enclave, the televisions in the cardio area are likely to be tuned to CNN or MSNBC. Most live-and-let-live right-wingers typically just ignore progressive propaganda in that circumstance and don’t make an issue of it, however.

As alluded to above, here is just a sample of the skepticism from “the MAGAs” or others that rolled in on social media:
