Senator Josh Hawley reacted after he was ridiculed by the January 6 committee during the prime time edition of their political circus, insisting that he has no regrets about what he did on the day when protests at the U.S. Capitol spiraled out of control, allowing Democrats to depict Trump supporters as domestic extremists.
Not that further evidence was necessary that the Liz Cheney-led committee is little more than a politically-motivated show trial despite its sanctimonious posturing, but the featuring of a video clip of the Missouri Republican running during the evacuation of the building was a political hit-job served up to rabid Resistance Democrats and RINO Never Trump dead enders, feeding social media memes and earning laughter from the audience.
“No, I don’t regret anything on that day, I would do it again,” Sen. Hawley told Fox News Digital on Friday, speaking from Florida where he was attending the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa.
Hawley was one of the GOP lawmakers opposing the electoral votes on the day that Congress convened to certify the election, leading the objection to Pennsylvania’s electoral votes.
“Always an honor to be attacked by the January Sixth clown car,” Hawley told the outlet. “And that’s what it really is. I mean, this is an attempt to talk about anything other than the Democrats’ record, their obsession with President Trump, their obsession with people who have supported MAGA voters, who are MAGA voters, and their effort to demonize half the country.”
“So, you know, I imagine they’ll go right on doing it because they don’t want to talk about what voters actually want to talk about,” he added.
The video snippet of Hawley was teed up by Virginia Democrat Rep. Elaine Luria after a still image of the lawmaker raising his fist in solidarity with the obvious purpose of embarrassing him for entertainment purposes and to settle political scores against a loyal ally of former President Donald J. Trump.
This is too good. Laughter erupts at the Jan 6 Hearing as video is shown of Republican Senator Josh Hawley running away in fear at the Capitol from the rioters he had hailed with a raised fist just hours earlier. pic.twitter.com/hVS1Wz5bpa

CNN analyst and former D.C. police officer Michael Fanone – a hero of the resistance – took a shot at the Republican lawmaker,
“To be completely honest, give you my like, first thoughts that popped into my mind was Josh Hawley is a bitch and he ran like a bitch,” he told Politico. “The fist pump combined with what he did in the immediate aftermath just shows the truth character — or lack thereof.”
Hawley was quick to capitalize on the attention from the tribunal’s context-free video.

Hawley, who received the rock star treatment at the Turning Point USA event told the crowd, “Hey, listen I know what I’m talking about because I had them do it to me. I objected on Jan. 6 last year to the state of Pennsylvania. And I just want to say to all of those liberals out there and the liberal media, just in case you haven’t gotten the message yet, I do not regret it.”
“And I am not backing down, I’m not gonna apologize, I’m not gonna cower, I’m not gonna run from you. I’m not gonna bend the knee,” he said.
