Joy Behar lashes out at ‘DEI hire’ Karoline Leavitt for ‘gross’ comments on Gen Z

“The View” host Joy Behar continues to reveal that she doesn’t know how anything in the real world works.

Behar reacted on Wednesday to a clip of White House Secretary Karoline Leavitt saying that some members of Generation Z are being drawn to socialism because they’ve been “raised with silver spoons in their mouths.”

After “The View” crew reacted in disgust to the “gross” clip, Behar explained that Leavitt is a “DEI hire”

Why?

Because she “has all the things.”

“She got an education. She married a rich guy, so talk about a DEI hire,” Behar fumed.

Co-host Sunny Hostin was quick to run with Behar’s take.

“I think to Joy’s point, you know, it’s really rich for her to, at 28 years old, married to a 65-year-old, I mean that’s her choice — he’s worth $6 million… $61 million, so I’m not sure where she comes off saying that Gen-Zers are lazy. I’m raising Gen-Zers. They work constantly, and I know, I can see it. They make a lot less money. They live paycheck to paycheck… Two-thirds of Gen-Zs are now in the workforce; 42% of them say they are living paycheck to paycheck,” Hostin said.

Leavitt was hired on her own merit, which by any objective measure, she has proven time and time again — even while pregnant!

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin tried to sprinkle in the fact that Leavitt is quite successful in her own right.

“Just to be fair to Karoline, she’s been personally very successful. She’s had a big career in politics and media. She’s made over $1 million herself,” Griffin said in defense of Leavitt.

“She’s 28!!” Behar shrieked.

X users also defended Leavitt:

She worked for it.
She probably the best at it in my lifetime.
She sees people her age with the same education doing very little.
Her marital status has nothing to do with her success

Well Joy, here’s the thing. A DEI hire is hired due to attributes like gender, race or sexual identity to tick boxes, not because of their qualifications. As you mentioned here, she got an education, one that helped give her the qualifications she needs. Not DEI
