Newsom calls for ‘more ferocity’ from Dems, tells party to ‘wake up’ to the ‘ruthlessness’ of the GOP

Gavin Newsom, the pandering far-left governor of California, a deep-blue state that has lost population because of high taxes, various strict mandates, and an excessive cost of living, along with a crime wave, says Democrats need to be “more ferocious” in response to the “ruthless” Republican Party.

The lockdown-loving Newsom, who visited the White House last week while President Biden was traveling overseas perhaps to check out the accommodations, seems likely to throw his hair gel into the 2024 presidential primary ring for the Democrats.

Biden insists that he plans to seek reelection, a notion that is prompting a lot of skepticism across the ideological spectrum.

During an interview with Fox 11 Los Angeles anchor Elex Michealson, the ambitious, authoritarian governor who fended off a September 2021 recall election, positioned himself as a progress-advocating political strategist who would never lower himself to take cheap shots.

“You have to also recognize what you’re up against. And right now, we’re up against the ruthlessness of the Republican Party. And I say that not naively…that’s not a cheap shot. You see what’s happening to all the progress we’ve made in the 21st century. All of the rights that we have in many ways have taken for granted that have been afforded since the 60s are being rolled back in real time,” Newsom claimed in that portion of the cringe interview.

“This is a totally different moment, and we have to wake up with a different mindset and not just old mindset in terms of just a collaborative mindset, a cup of tea, and everyone’s going to work together to get along…to advance the collective cause,” he continued.

Watch:

“And that’s where the party needs to come in. Democrats need — the Democratic Party, not the president, not a speaker, not an elected officeholder — the party, the infrastructure, I think, has to organize with more ferocity of focus, more determination to set the agenda, set the course, and put the other party on the defense,” Newsom, who appears to be cruising to reelection in November in the state where the left controls all levers of government, added.

Newsom also claimed that despite the facts not being on their side, the GOP “is dominating the narrative,” even though Democrats control the presidency and both chambers of Congress, as well the corporate media.

In a lack of self awareness, Newsom, who was caught in November 2020 violating his own COVID-19 social distancing rules, has inexplicably aired ads in Florida inviting residents there to move to Cali in the name of freedom.

In September 2021 interview with the same reporter which is available on YouTube, although it’s similarly hard to take, Newsom listed various woke bona fides, and claimed that he respected people who supported the recall.

He also touted his ability to work with former President Trump even though they fundamentally disagreed on various issues.

At that time, Newsom called for unity (something that Biden also pledged) which seems to run counter to his current assessment of the “ruthless” GOP, however.

Given Biden’s unpopularity, various top Democrats and their some of their corporate journalism allies seem to have concluded that the party needs a new and younger standard-bearer in 2024, even though it’s the failed radical agenda, and not the figurehead salesperson, that apparently is driving voters into the GOP column.

Whether Newsom inherits the 2024 mantle remains to be seen.
