Anthony Weiner talks ‘secret hideout’ over news ex-wife Huma Abedin dating Bradley Cooper

Disgraced former Democratic congressman Anthony Weiner reacted to the news that his ex-wife Huma Abedin was dating actor Bradley Cooper on his radio show and argued he needed “a secret hideout” after the news broke.

The cohost of “The Left Vs. The Right,” with Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, ultimately didn’t dodge the topic when their program opened with a recording of Cooper’s song “Maybe It’s Time” from his film “A Star is Born.” After Sliwa brought up the headline news that included a New York Post front page article that read, “Huma’s New Hot Dog,” Weiner confirmed, “Really, you’re going to do this,” when the story had supposedly not been included in their show notes.

Weiner, who had been sentenced to 21 months in prison in 2017 for sexting a minor, had nothing but positive things to say about the former aide to Hillary Clinton whose 2021 book, “Both/And: A Life in Many Worlds,” is getting turned into a television show as he joked with his cohost about actors that might portray them.

The ex-congressman expected “someone handsome” would be cast for his role while Sliwa indulged in some self-deprecating humor and suggested the show “could be the comeback for Pee Wee Herman” if the Guardian Angel were written into the show.

The jokes went on to include a reference from Weiner to reports that NYC Mayor Eric Adams had a “secret” office in Lower Manhattan and that hizzoner might be on to something there saying, “I need a secret hideout with a week like this one.”

As previously reported, Abedin and Cooper were said to have been involved in secret for months now after Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour had played matchmaker at the Met Gala. “She’s BFFs with Bradley and adores Huma,” an unnamed source had told Page Six. “Bradley has been quietly dating Huma for a few months now, [and] they’ve been keeping it really quiet.”

Despite the clandestine nature of the relationship, Weiner suggested that it may have been something he was well aware of before the public learned of it earlier this week. “Huma’s still my best friend,” he told Sliwa.

“She’s still – so we talk about everything, we share what’s going on in each other’s lives,” he claimed as he divulged the living arrangement within the same apartment building for the benefit of their child, Jordan.

“I’m crazy about Huma and I love her dearly,” he added and then later reiterated the point with emphasis, “I love her dearly and I want her to be happy, and I’m happy if she is happy.”

Further making light of perceived romantic upgrade from himself to Cooper by his ex, Weiner joked that the broadcast’s conclusion could not be delayed because he was involved with a celebrity as well, “We have to end right at 4. Lady Gaga is picking me up.”
