The Hill stepped in it big time and was spanked hard on social media for tweeting out that Republicans are looking to “steal” Hispanic voters from Democrats, insinuating that they are the property of the left.
“GOP sees chance to steal Hispanic voters from Democrats,” the unfortunate tweet read.
The article reeks of desperation, outlining how GOP outreach to Hispanic voters has been wildly successful.
Managing editor Curtis Houck of NewsBusters got the ball rolling by tweeting, “.@TheHill spewing racist garbage, plain and simple.”

“Republicans are actively courting Hispanic voters in key competitive House districts, hoping to peel away voters from Democrats repeating their historical pattern of investing little and late in reaching out to Latinos,” The Hill stated, taking a petty swipe at Republicans.
“The GOP’s approach is a danger to Democrats, as Hispanic voters are likely to play a key role in at least a dozen districts in the November midterm elections,” the media outlet said, stating the obvious.
“It couldn’t be a starker contrast between Republicans and Democrats as we engage and do outreach to minority voters, and specifically the Hispanic community,” Danielle Alvarez, who is the communications director for the GOP, stated.
The Hill is ringing alarm bells for the Democrats as loudly as they can.
“Hispanic Democrats in Congress outnumber Republicans 4 to 1, but the Republican Party has recruited a new generation of Hispanic candidates at breakneck speed, most notably in Texas, but also in states like Oregon and Virginia,” The Hill warned Democrats. “The National Republican Congressional Committee says it has recruited a total of 102 Hispanic candidates in this cycle.”
Are you saying Democrats “owns” Hispanic voters? Sure sounds like it, because you can’t “steal” something from someone if they don’t own it. This is a much worse comment than racist Jill Biden’s Hispanics are tacos comment.

Conservatives had a field day with The Hill over its accusation.
Journalist Leighton Woodhouse snarked, “Wasn’t aware the Dems owned people.”
Writer Jim Treacher noted, “Notice the presumption here.”
“Democrats don’t own Hispanic voters! Recent polling commissioned by FreedomWorks’ Hispanic Grassroots Alliance and conducted by The Bullfinch Group reveals that a positive, pro-liberty platform resonates strongly with Hispanic voters. #ampFW 🇺🇸,” FreedomWorks wrote.
El American editor-at-large Emmanuel Rincón tweeted, “These people think that Latinos are the property of ‘Democrats,’ and that if they vote Republican, it’s because the GOP is ‘stealing’ their property. For the Democrats, Latinos are tacos, uniforms, without the ability to reason. Modern slavery.”

To the Democrats we Latinos are tacos, uniforms, with no capacity for reasoning. Modern day slavery.

The biased tweet comes after first lady Jill Biden made an egregious error by referring to Hispanic voters as “breakfast tacos” while speaking at the Latinx IncluXion Luncheon on Monday. Her thoughtless comparison trashed Democrat-Hispanic relations and virtually ensured her party getting trounced in the midterm elections.

“Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community – as distinct as the bodegas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio – is your strength” Jill Biden cringingly quipped.

She was blasted from all sides over the comment and the GOP even started selling shirts that said, “Not your breakfast taco.”
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) panned her statement as racist.
“NAHJ encourages Dr. Biden and her speech writing team to take the time in the future to better understand the complexities of our people and communities,” the organization said in a statement.
“We are not tacos,” NAHJ added. “Our heritage as Latinos is shaped by a variety of diasporas, cultures, and food traditions, and should not be reduced to a stereotype.”

Jill Biden groveled in a tweet via a spokesperson who lamely said she “apologizes that her words conveyed anything but pure admiration and love for the Latino community.”
